Ongoing Training Opportunities

SAFE Work Manitoba offers a variety of FREE training courses that are available online.  

​​​In an ongoing effort to educate Manitobans about workplace safety and health, SAFE Work Manitoba offers the following e-learning courses. A membership is not required in order to purchase or view e-learning courses.

SAFE Work Manitoba covers the cost of courses through a partnership with the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS). Registration is limited to a total of 300 seats per company/organization inclusive of all CCOHS courses. Courses marked "free" are not part of this limitation, nor is the Manitoba Aboriginal Health and Safety Initiative course.

•    Preventing Falls from Slips or Trips
•    Violence in the Workplace: Awareness
•    Violence in the Workplace: Recognize the Risk and Take Action
•    Violence in the Workplace: Establish a Prevention Program
•    WHMIS 2015 for Manitoba Workers: Provincially Regulated Workplaces
•    WHMIS 2015 for Workers
•    Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course

Click on the link to get started.  If you do not have access to a computer and/or printer, you can visit our office and use one of our 26 computers in our Resource Area.  We can also print your certificates once you have completed them - FREE of charge! 


Youth Employment Services has partnered with 1Life Workplace Safety & Health to make a Young Worker Safety Training Program accessible to all Manitoba youth.  All Manitoba youth are encouraged to take this free on-line safety training as part of their preparation for the workforce. Proper safety increases the likelihood that they will stay safe during the course of their employment as well as reducing the risk to the business itself.

Skills to Succeed

Youth Employment Services has also partnered with YES Toronto to offer Skills to Succeed!

This FREE online platform offers over 110 online courses and resources.  Learn employment and entrepreneurship skills, and best of all you can access the training anytime, anywhere! Simply click the registration button below to get started.

Other Training Opportunities

The following training opportunities are offered on a sign-up or selection basis:

  • Certified Food Handler Training Program*

    • Government Issued Photo ID is required and must be presented on the day of training.

    • Exams are available in French, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.​

  • CPR/First Aid*

  • Smart Choices (previously known as Serving it Safe/It's Good Business)*

  • "Get Into" programming in partnership with Prince's Trust Canada
