Program Description:

Last updated: August 17, 2021

Due to Covid-19, we have currently adapted our referral program to ensure the safety of participants and staff. Please contact our referrals program coordinator, Victoria Verhoek, at 204-987-8661 ext. 670 or vverhoek@yesmb.ca for more details on current programming.

Please note: Under the current code yellow restrictions, YES staff are available for in-person services at limited capacity. We are also still offering virtual services. The current programming is best suited to clients who have access to a phone, computer/tablet and wifi at home to complete program expectations. Clients who are unable to job hunt from home, complete virtual or in-person appointments, and fill out job search tracking sheets via word or google docs, will not able to complete program expectations. Please verify your client’s technology access before referring them to YES.

Each client will start with a pre-booked, 1-on-1 orientation session at YES, where they will receive PDF work booklets and sheets for “job search tracking” (JST) to complete from home. The booklets cover various topics including, workplace communication, resumes, cover letters, and applications, working with others, job interviews and starting a new job successfully. Our employment facilitator will be reachable by clients if they have questions about the booklets.

In the second week, clients will do an appointment to work on a resume together.

From the third week onwards, the client will fill out at least 1 job search tracking (JST) sheet per week, and forward images or a copy of the filled out sheet to YES, as well as booking in at minimum 1 appointment per month with an employment facilitator to check-in on their job hunt. Most participants choose to meet weekly to continue to work on employability skills.

Reporting:

As a referring agent, you will be notified of your clients compliance with the orientation well as receive weekly exception based reporting regarding their program expectations.
