Referrals for those Receiving EIA Benefits 

If you are an EIA Case Coordinator, Labour Market Service Advisor, or work with Manitoba Education and Training, and you would like your client to attend Youth Employment Services with tracked expectations and exception reporting, please complete the referral form below. Chelsey will contact the client directly via the contact information you provide to confirm the orientation appointment with your client. The client will then be added to our weekly reporting list. Once orientation has been completed, you will receive a confirmation email.

Due to Covid-19, we have currently adapted our referral program to ensure the safety of participants and staff. Please contact our Employment Facilitator, Chelsey Finney, at 204-987-8661 ext. 663 or for more details on current programming.


Please note: As of February 14, 2022 our offices are open in a limited capacity by appointment only with procedures and guidelines in place for the safety of our clients, staff, and community members. Clients will have the option to meet with staff virtually if necessary. They will also be expected to job hunt independently from home, or job search in-person at YES by booking computer time. Please verify your client’s technology access before referring them to YES and include any information on the referral form.

About the Program:

Each client will start with a pre-booked, orientation session at YES, where they will receive sheets for “job search tracking” (JST) to complete from home or at YES. For the remainder of week one, clients will attend employability workshops each day. These workshops cover various topics such as resumes, cover letters, job searching, interviews, and success in the workplace. Clients will also attend a weekly presentation from a community agency, to increase their connections to community resources. 

In week two and beyond, clients will attend in-person appointments 3 days a week. On the first day, they will work with an Employment Facilitator to build and edit resumes and cover letters. They will also have one-on-one support with job searching and interview preparation. On the second day, they will attend YES to complete job searching in-person independently, with the support of practicum students and staff as needed. On the third day, clients will meet with staff to support other needs that will help them become more work ready. For example, if a client is experiencing unstable housing, they will work with YES staff to connect them to resources that can help.


In week three and beyond, clients will fill out at least 1 job search tracking sheet per week, and forward images or a copy of the filled out sheet to YES. They are expected to apply for 15 to 20 jobs per week. 


As a referring agent, you will be notified of your clients compliance with the orientation well as receive weekly reporting regarding their program expectations.

3. Your client will be added to the weekly reporting emails you receive on Monday each week

4. You will receive an email confirmation when your client attends orientation
